They do offer some GF options.
Not anymore. They ended the parking lot pick up system. So now they're closed. But should be reopening soon.
They deliver their baked goods to other businesses.
Hope some days
No churros, jjst lots of delicious baked goods, breads and prepared lunch items, hot and cold.
Not inside the bakery.
Not sure about chocolate cake but they do have gluten free items
Yes
Long time favorite of Capitola, I always make sure to stop by, they have a huge selection of breakfeast brunch lunch and breads and baked goods, indoor and sunroom seating, always been a busy fast paced restaurant
Didn't realize how popular this place is, big line. The food and bakery well worth the wait
The one and only,Innovative in flavor,Great experience.
Gayle's is a classic. Do not miss it EVEN if you've just eaten. Hot food, deli case items packed to go, baked goods...perfect for a beach picnic or stocking up the house for the week/weekend. I literally cannot drive by without stopping. Enjoy!
Great place, The deli has great food, really yummy with decadent desserts and a wonderful staff. Oh, try the Olive Bread, l brought a loaf, they will slice it for you. Go if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.
It's a really busy place. Lots of choices! They're quick. Got a chicken croissant sandwich some spinach pasta, and a giant tub of chili. The flavors are good :)
This Place Rocks!!! The food quality is spectacular. The staff are well trained and truly care about the customer. Prices are reasonable, and the selection is awesome. I love the breads, cookies, soups, cheesecake, everything. The only challenge about this place is parking. Once you try the butter star cookies, you will be hooked.
I’ve been going to Gayles for nearly 4 decades. I haven’t had a dish I didn’t enjoy. Everything is tasty! Grab a ticket, wait your turn and prepare to be fed well.
Gayle's is a family favorite so I was excited to see they were open with social distancing accommodations. The line WAS around the building, and I was at the last social distancing line, but it took less than 10 min to make it in to order. Quantities are limited, but they have most of our old favorites.
Honestly don't know how to describe this place. I was staying at a motel locally on my way back to Seattle when a couple I was talking to suggested it because they always go there when in the area. I had time so thought I'd swing by and grab something for breakfast. Wow, is all I can say and suggest not going in when your hungry. The selections are unbelievable and the quality of everything I bought was really fresh. The prices were quite reasonable too. I spent $29 and got 2 breakfasts, lunch and a couple snacks. I can guarantee you that if I'm in this area again I'm going back.
This place is amazing. No wonder it was so packed. Food was gorgeous and delicious. Really great quality. Good selection of drinks as well
What a great bakery! We had a fun time here.Their are lots of baked goods to choose from. You can also order you food to eat there, or to go. They have your dinner packed for you to take home and enjoy if you would like. Remember to take a number for your turn to be serve. Parking is free, but can be difficult to find.
Very good as usual. Their setup in observance of COVID-19 regulations is very good. It made me feel safe to buy there. Will definitely go back.
Love eating at this place! Italiano Roll is my fav with Dill Pickles on the side
Such amazing food long lines but so worth it the employees are amazing
Beautiful and tasty cakes and all things dessert! Hubby enjoyed the coconut cake a lot.It was good but super sweet! So even my dad has a sweet tooth, he just couldn't finish it.Always good service, sometimes there's a long line during peak seasons and hours! It's a good spot to visit while you visit this beautiful town.
Guaranteed freshness! I can't wait until they're baking more than what's avail. Interesting read, too!
Great cakes, likely the best in the Capitola area. Food is good too. The shop has been here for years and is a great neighborhood spot for a quick bite or a celebratory dessert.
Delicious food, friendly staff, and SUPER awesome Covid response practices!
Gayle's has always been the best bakery in town. Quality products, great service. Very consistent . My only issue is that I have to pay, what I call, "Weekend tourist prices" for their fabulous food. I've been saying to myself, " It's OK to pay more for quality food". I'm over that. Everyone's product should be of good quality at a reasonable price.
Their process for in-store purchase is a pain and wastes time. Long wait to get in too. They have a savory food section and a bakery section. You cannot select things from both areas, they are 2 different orders. I had 5 large to go orders for 5 difference offices which Gayles makes into 10 orders because of savory and sweet. This also makes it a challenge when you need for them to pack each order separately from the start of each order. About $500 and the food was completely mediocre. Never, ever again.
Gayle's is a cultural institution in Aptos. It has all the delicious food you could probably make for yourself if only you had the time and aptitude. I'm only knocking a star off because it's a bit overpriced. Bon appetit!
Moved from Capitols to Oregon in 1993. Gayles was/is so good that we drive back JUST for their biscotti and to see the store. This is true. Its 7/5/20 and we leave Portland for Gayles day after tomorrow---red eye all the way there, grab goodies and red eye all the way back. We have tried to find biscotti and other items equal to their for almost 30 years all over the west and mail-order. Cant be done.
Everyone knows that Gayle's bakes gorgeous breads and pastries. Because of this it is imperative to pick the best time to visit, either early morning or early afternoon. It will be busy, but worth it!
So yummy!!! Get a number when you get in there. If you're in a group, paying separate, just each grab your own number. That's the easiest. Lots of variety! So fresh!
Gayle's is such a part of the local scene that sometimes I forget it's there. They have tons of choices for lunch and dinner, and beautiful and delicious pastry as well. Recently, my friend and I visited and had salmon with broccolini, which were both perfectly prepared. If you eat there, they have some beautiful tables that look handmade created from ceramic pieces.
Warm atmosphere with plenty of seating and a roaring fire on the rainy day we visited. The people who work here are patient, friendly, and helpful. And the food... Displayed beautifully and just so delicious, with fresh ingredients and made with love and care. I think it's obvious that Gayle's is worth a trip to Capitola even if Capitola wasn't also home to a beautiful beach.
Never disappointed with an awesome selection of baked goods! Great customer service as well!
Wow! What a treat, even during the pandemic. Delicious sandwiches. Lovely Key Lime Pie, and, surprisingly, Garlic Bread that rocked our world. Gayle's will now be a destination for us during future coast trips.
Get your ticket when you come in. 😊 Again amazingly friendly people and lovely service staff who are more than happy to help. I am excited to try their bread and it looked as if they cover everything you need: warm food, healthy food, sweets and pastries and coffee... 👌🏼
This is one of my most favorite places to eat. It's a little pricey but so worth it. They're food, salads, soups and sandwiches are always great. They serve dark roast coffee but it's tasty. They make the best key lime pie ever!! They're bakery is great!! Fresh bread... Yummy!!
We came there to order a gluten-free. They had wheat free options, and offered to get flourless cake. So we asked go make it to go. Next day we opened the box, the top of the cakes was smashed, destroyed... the box was too small for the cake... :( it was a birthday cake... But we decorated it our way. The cake is very delicious, really good. The handling issues still brought some disappointment.
Strange experience these days but Gayle's was great, visit every time when close to the area. I actually had to take off my glasses to eat the Nohala cookie today.
Awesome! Fast service with great food-even gluten free cookies. This place is just shy of a full market. It's a must stop for everyone- locals, tourist, visitors, and out-of-towners. The list is endless with cookies, cakes, bread, sandwiches, salads, and etc. the pictures gives it more justice. Parking is tough after 10am but the service inside is fast.
This place is just amazing. You need to visit on person to understand how cozy and friendly this place is. The bakery make you feel on Paris France. The Dining room is all roomy and only glass around you for a perfect view of out side sky. The food is fresh and tasty. You feel like eat at this place and order extra to take home. Highly recommend
You have to love Gayles bakery. Everybody does. Fantastic baked treats, and great food. Homey atmosphere. Locally love to come weekend mornings before the crowds swarm in later.
Great food and atmosphere. Can get really busy on weekends and if you go near lunch though.
It would be great if this bakery can serve Vegan Diet options.
Consistency is key & this place is always good. The long lines seem intimidating but they are very well organized & I've never had to wait more than 10min after picking up my ticket#, even during a busy Sat or Sun brunch. I recommend the everything!
Best place for fancy ToGo food. Pastas. Sandwiches, pot pies, desserts and more. Love this place and so happy they are surviving the covid pandemic
Fantastic bakery and deli. Everything was fresh and tasty. At times, it can be very busy, so patience is required, but it is worth the wait. A typical visit is at last one hour.
Always good staff are nice just busy but worth it
Not one bad item! Gotta try everything!!! Yummy in da tummy!!!
We first came to Gayle's Bakery 2 + decades ago when we lived in the Bay Area. The place is a must whenever one is in Capitola. Food is always consistently delicious and the desserts amazing. The Staff are always eager to help and very courteous. We celebrated our Anniversary yesterday and since Capitola has a special place in our hearts, we had to stop by and grab some items from Gayle's. We were happy to see they had the pandemic precautions in place. We took our food and parked by the coastline to enjoy our meal. The cakes we will enjoy at home in celebration of our milestone. There will be a line here, pandemic or not. They are that good. Always well worth the wait in my humble opinion. If you are not the patient type, just come early. We will keep coming even if we are now 3+ hrs away.
I tried the Salted Caramel Chocolate cake and the Carrot cake. Carrot cake being one of my favorite desserts and I read that it has a lot of cream cheese frosting. It did have a lot of frosting however it did not taste at all like cream cheese frosting. It tasted like whipped cream frosting which is not necessarily a bad thing except when your mind is thinking cream cheese. I don't know if this was a mistake or if their cream cheese is that bland. The place was hopping at 8 at night. Obviously a very popular place and its deserved. I still gave it 4 stars because the Salted Caramel Chocolate cake was delicious. I will go back as there is so much that looks fantastic to try. I just won't order the carrot cake again.
This is an absolute mad lad of a place. I've been coming here from San Jose since I was a kid, and it's always worth the drive. Quality, service, price: this place is just ridiculous. The only problem is the limited space in my stomach for all the good things they make here. Friggin love Gayle's.
Always Delicious Pastries/Cakes/Cookies and Awesome Coffee!! Plan for a line but the staff is always great and friendly and very helpful. Just a great place to enjoy in Capitola!
I come all the way from Alameda County to go to Gayle’s and overindulge in their baked goods. From the sweets to savory, they can do no wrong. Parking lot sucks a bit and so does the wait but when the place is THAT good, it happens. It’s really embarrassing how much I’m spend when I go but I have no regrets. It’s like the Porto’s of our area!
Awesome bakery and deli with friendly staff, quick service, a lot of food and dessert options and plenty of seating. The deviled eggs were perfect! Definitely recommend trying them. It's pretty busy on the weekend but the line moves quickly. You need to grab a red ticket for service.
